Desert Rain II, Bend, Oregon

Attaining net zero water & net zero energy in a high desert climate is quite a challenge!

This residential building complex is registered with the International Living Building Institute and expects to attain full Living Building certification and LEED Platinum certification. Vidas has been working with the project team since September 2009 providing LEED & Living Building consulting services.

The Team has collaborated extensively developing integrated systems for optimum PV production and rainwater catchment. Salvaged materials and local building products will be used throughout the project. Vidas has been locating materials and products that meet this rigorous standard, including complying with the Red List. Read more about the Living Building Challenge requirements.
