Living Building Challenge Consulting

As a Living Building Ambassador, ML Vidas is well-versed in the rigorous requirements of the Living Building Challenge.  She has been working on a LBC-registered project since December 2009.  Through her involvement with leading green building experts, she has connected the clients and the project designer with key specialists and resources.  She has developed an intricate spreadsheet project management tool that is tracking every building material and verifying compliance with the Living Building Standard and the Red List.

 

Charette Facilitation

Guiding people with diverse perspectives toward consensus-based decisions requires leadership and experience. Vidas continues to demonstrate her skill at providing a productive environment for clients and their constituents to explore difficult topics.  Whether the team is following a LEED checklist or assessing the cost effectiveness of a ventilation system, Vidas will keep the discussion on topic and moving forward.

 

Conceptual Design & Project Goal-setting

Before earth moving equipment arrives at the site, clients begin by determining their primary goals and objectives. Vidas facilitates this collaborative process.  A series of meetings leads to a clear understanding and articulation of what the client wants to accomplish.  Input is solicited from many sources including building officials, landscape architects, energy efficiency experts, contractors, and local building material suppliers.

 

Construction Documents & Construction Administration

As a full service architecture firm, Vidas Architecture provides building design and construction documents from conceptual design through construction administration.  After client approval of concept drawings, the team produces design development drawings that highlight key building systems and material finishes.  With further refinement, construction documents provide drawings for the building permitting process.  Construction administration services carry through, complementing the construction process.

 

LEED Project Management & Documentation

ML Vidas has been a LEED Accredited Professional for many years, working on commercial and residential projects. She recently provided LEED project documentation and support for the following:
